We prepare and submit VAT returns for many clients using a wide variety of software to include Microsoft excel spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and Kashflow. Unlike many accountants who prefer to align with one software provider, we are happy to use any software as we understand that different packages can meet the needs of different clients.
Many clients are more comfortable using excel spreadsheets than accounting software and that is absolutely fine with us. We have bridging software which we link to the spreadsheets in order to submit them online to HMRC using Making Tax Digital compliant software.
Our VAT return services vary from a sense check of the figures prepared by clients in the their software to clients who just provide us with bank statements, invoices and receipts on a quarterly basis for us to do all the work from bookkeeping through to drafting the VAT return for your approval, advising you of the VAT due and submission to HMRC.
We can also advise on the different schemes for accounting for VAT and carry out annual comparisons to make sure you are using the most appropriate scheme for your business.
If your business is the subject of a VAT inspection we can deal with HMRC on your behalf and have experience of this, all with successful outcomes. If you are concerned about our fees building up during such an investigation then the optional Tax Investigations Insurance we provide will cover these fees.
